California requires a six-hour course of study from a state-approved vendor before you can take the exam. NotaryOT Academy is exam preparation and career training — it is not that course. Founding-cohort enrollment in the CA Commission Launchpad is bundled with a state-approved partner course, so one purchase covers both the required credit and the training that actually gets you through the exam and into work.
“NotaryOT Signing Pro” is our own professional credential, earned by rubric — it is not a state endorsement, and we'll never imply it is.

Before you ask
Is this the official California six-hour course?
No — and any school that's vague about this is telling you something. The Launchpad is exam prep and career training, bundled with a state-approved partner course so the required credit is covered in one purchase.
Do I need any experience to start?
No. Track 0 is free and assumes nothing. Track 1 takes you from zero to commissioned. California requires you to be 18 or older.
What makes the simulator different from quizzes?
Quizzes test recall. The simulator tests behavior — you speak with an AI signer who has hidden objectives and a failure script, and you're graded on composure, procedure, and legal compliance, not on picking B.
How long until I'm earning?
The California commission process itself typically takes a few months from course to county filing — the state's timeline, not ours. The Launchpad is designed so you pass the exam on the first attempt and lose zero time to retakes. Signing Pro is built for notaries to earn from their first week certified.
Does the AI give legal advice?
Never — and it will tell you so. The study buddy teaches notary law and procedure to you as a student. It does not advise consumers, and it declines legal and immigration questions by design. That guardrail is part of the training itself: knowing where the line is is the job.
